Cumulative Effects Framework, Silverton Creek – 2019

This report uses the “Interim Assessment Protocol for Aquatic Ecosystems in British Columbia” for the watershed drained by Silverton Creek in order to provide baseline metrics of the watershed for future comparisons. It demonstrates how the “Total Land Disturbance” benchmark value changed as a result of the Blacktail Mountain wildfire of 2018.

Four components were monitored:
  1. Benthic macro-invertebrate community using Canadian Aquatic Biomonitoring Network (CABIN)
  2. Water quality
  3. Water temperature, and
  4. Hydrologic characteristics (velocity and streamflow)

Slocan Lake Water Quality Monitoring Project 2010 – 2013

This water quality monitoring report provides information about both the present condition of Slocan Lake, as well as potential trends, in order to support the development of a future lake management plan.

This project consists of two components:

  1. A nearshore component conducted annually over a five-week period
  2. An offshore component carried out monthly from spring to fall each year.
